Roll up roll up for the first pay-as-you-feel pop up from The Real Junk Food Project Sheffield. The doors will open at 18:00 at Sharrow Community Forum on Saturday 13th June so come on down and bag yourself a surplus supper!
The menu will be comprised of waste, excess and surplus foods obtained from across Sheffield. As we don’t know what we will intercept until the day the menu will only be released on the day! Once the food is gone, it’s gone so it’s advised to arrive early.
Should I book? No simply turn up, the earlier the better.
Can I bring alcohol? Not this time.
Can I bring children? Yes – we can’t promise a special menu for children but they are very welcome.
How does PAYF work? You can donate to the project in a variety of ways listed below, but no one will be turned away.
1) A cash donation.
2) A time donation.
3) A skill donation.
4) An item donation – Dry ingredients? Herbs? A cake?
Simply pay what you feel the food is worth. You are encouraged to think about the value of the food in terms of the energy put into producing it before it reached us. If you prefer to offer your time on the night or skills then speak to one of the helpers or fill in a card. Use your imagination to think how you can help!
What will happen to the donated money? Any cash taken on the night will be used to cover the cost of the room hire and be reinvested into the project. We are in the process of forming a CIC to firm up this structure and we record donations for our central network statistics.
Food Boutique – on the night there will be a table of help yourself food. Please take anything you need and feel free to donate to it too.
